How we work
We sweep, inspect and repair chimneys in Cornwall and the surrounding Hudson Valley towns. That is the whole business — we are not a roofing company with a chimney sideline or a general contractor who will take on chimney work if asked.
Our technicians are certified, and the business is licensed and insured.
The way we prefer to work is straightforward: look at the chimney properly first, tell you what is actually wrong in language that makes sense, and let you decide. An inspection buys you an assessment of the system and a plain explanation of what it needs. If that turns out to be nothing, that is a legitimate answer and we will give it.

An honest answer about urgency
Some chimney problems are safety issues now. Others can reasonably wait for better weather. We will tell you which is which.
A clean job
Sweeping is done with the fireplace sealed to the equipment and debris drawn out under vacuum. Soot should not end up in your room.
No pressure to buy the bigger job
If repointing will do, we will say so rather than quote a rebuild.
We also tell people when sweeping is not what they need. A chimney that smells in summer, drafts badly, or leaks when it rains has a different problem, and selling a sweep for it would waste your money.
Clear about scope, rather than implying we cover everything
We do chimney work: sweeping and cleaning, inspection, liners and relining, masonry repair, repointing, rebuilding, crown repair, leak and flashing repair, and waterproofing.
If what you need falls outside that, we will say so rather than take the job.
